CASTING
Bangkok shines with its excellent casting options and impressive facilities. Within Thailand, we can cast actors and models from a variety of nationalities, whether they are locals or traveling foreigners who join local talent agencies for short stints.
While we excel in most areas, comedy performance can be a bit challenging, especially for Caucasian and Black talent, so we often cast these roles from South Africa or Australia.

WORKING HOURS
The shoot day in Thailand is a perfect 12 hours! The Sweetshop (and the Thai industry as a whole) do not adhere to the crazy 16-20 hour days common in some other countries in the region.
We try not to push past 14 hours at the most, to always maintain set and crew safety and to promote a healthy working environment for our team, directors and talents
VALUE
Thailand is generally considered a lower-cost production center compared to most countries.
While costs have risen in recent years, they remain very competitive. Due to the expert craftsmanship available with local crew, building large sets and miniatures for studio shoots is usually considered particularly good 'bang for buck' in Thailand.
Low range: USD 70,000 to USD 80,000
per 12-14 hour shoot day
Mid range: USD 120,000 to USD 180,000
per 12-14 hour shoot day
High range: USD 200,000 +
per 12-14 hour shoot day
REBATES
Thailand offers film incentives, including rebates, for shooting film/long form productions. The Thailand Film Office under the Department of Tourism provides a cash rebate for qualified productions.
The team at The Sweetshop will be able to advise if your film is eligible for a rebate.
