The fabulous and varied locations that Thailand has to offer is one of the most obvious reasons for shooting here. From the vibrant cities, to turquoise beaches, to jungle, to villages. Thailand has it all!

REPLICATING OTHER COUNTRIES

Thailand's versatile landscapes can convincingly replicate almost any country in the world, from the cobblestone streets of Europe to the sunny beaches of Miami, the Gold Coast, or the Maldives.

Believe it or not, Thailand even has its own version of the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Just two hours outside of Bangkok sits "Toscana Valley" a country club and resort that looks like it would be right at home in Tuscany, complete with a cobblestoned town square, roman pool and park-like gardens. 

Chris Hemsworth’s action-packed film "Extraction"  used Thailand as a stand-in for parts of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Key filming spots for the production in Thailand included Ban Pong, Ratchaburi, and Nakhon Pathom.

The country also boasts a variety of international-style homes that can emulate residences from across the globe. This incredible flexibility makes Thailand an ideal filming destination, capable of bringing a wide range of settings to life with stunning accuracy.

BEACHES

Thailand's stunning tropical beaches have made it a favorite destination for international TV shows and films. The country's modern infrastructure allows for filming in remote, picturesque beach locations without sacrificing access to essential services such as highways, railways, airports, hospitals, and other conveniences.

Among the top beach destinations are islands like Koh Phi Phi, Koh Samui, Phuket, Krabi and the Similan Islands, all easily accessible by short flight and renowned for their pristine sands and crystal-clear waters. 

On the mainland, Pattaya is only a 2 hour drive from Bangkok. It's extremely shoot-friendly with a huge stretch of beach, offering both beach and city locations. We often shoot there due to it’s accessibility.

Thailand's idyllic beaches have been the backdrop for several Hollywood blockbusters, including "007: The Man with the Golden Gun" (James Bond Island, Phang Nga Bay), "The Beach" (Maya Bay, Phi Phi Islands), "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" (Naiyang Beach, Phuket), and "Fast and Furious 9" (Krabi).

The combination of Thailand's breathtaking beach locations and advanced infrastructure makes it an ideal destination for filmmakers seeking diverse and stunning coastal settings.

BANGKOK

At the crossroads of traditional Asia and the Western world, Bangkok, the bustling capital of Thailand, is a vibrant city home to 15 million people. This dynamic metropolis offers a fascinating blend of culturally and historically significant sites interspersed with modern architecture and a pulsating nightlife.

Bangkok's unique charm lies in its diversity. The city boasts a fabulous skytrain metro system, the scenic Chao Phraya River, bustling markets, and exquisite temples. You can find everything from the dense urban landscape of a concrete jungle to quaint, picturesque backstreets.

The city hosts an incredible mix of bars, restaurants, and cafes to suit any style. From charming, rustic vibes to completely over the top high-end, luxury, Bangkok caters to every taste and style imaginable. The city's renowned rooftop bars provide stunning urban backdrops, offering panoramic views that are perfect for capturing the very essence of this incredible city.

GREATER THAILAND

Thailand’s second city, Chiang Mai (in the North), is an exceptional film location that blends traditional Lanna-style architecture with modern urban living surrounded by misty mountains, picturesque rice terraces,  and lush tropical jungles.

The city is renowned for its ancient temples, such as Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang, which offer authentic, historical backdrops. Chiang Mai's charming old town, encircled by ancient city walls and a moat, provides a picturesque setting that evokes a sense of history and tradition.

The modern side of Chiang Mai also contributes to its versatility. The bustling markets, vibrant night bazaars, and contemporary architecture provide a dynamic urban backdrop. Additionally, the city’s burgeoning café culture and eclectic mix of restaurants can serve as stylish and trendy settings for contemporary scenes.

With its rich blend of traditional and modern elements, diverse landscapes, and cultural depth, Chiang Mai offers filmmakers an array of visually captivating and versatile shooting locations.

Thailand boasts a wealth of ancient temples and ruins that make for stunning film locations. With numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the country offers historically rich backdrops like the birthplace of Thai culture in Sukhothai, the ruins of Ayutthaya, and the classical Khmer architecture of Phimai. These historical parks and sacred sites, with their intricate designs and atmospheric settings, provide filmmakers with a diverse array of captivating and authentic locations.

Over 30% of Thailand is covered with tropical evergreen and monsoonal forest which contains amazing natural biodiversity. Khao Sok Lake is a stunning natural reservoir and a jewel in the crown of Khao Sok National Park, the emerald green waters are surrounded by hundreds of tiny islands made of limestone mountains and virgin tropical jungle. 

The hills of Khao Yai are covered with over 2,000km of thick tropical jungle, interspersed with stunning waterfalls, including Haew Suwat, the one Leonardo DiCaprio jumped off in the movie The Beach.
